On Monday, the Temple Institute started preparing to build a Third Temple on Jerusalem’s Mount Moriah, the site of the Dome of the Rock and the Aksa mosque, by inaugurating a workshop that manufactures priestly garments.

This group is very interesting as they have been attempting to push the rebuilding of the Jewish temple for a number of years and have not been successful. I also don’t think Muslims and Arabs are going to be as supportive as the article seems to suggest.

Archaeologists in Jordan have unearthed what they claim is the world’s first church, dating back almost 2,000 years, The Jordan Times reported on Tuesday.
“We have uncovered what we believe to be the first church in the world, dating from 33 AD to 70 AD,” the head of Jordan’s Rihab Centre for Archaeological Studies, Abdul Qader al-Husan, said.

He said it was uncovered under Saint Georgeous Church, which itself dates back to 230 AD, in Rihab in northern Jordan near the Syrian border.

“We have evidence to believe this church sheltered the early Christians — the 70 disciples of Jesus Christ,” Husan said.

“We could see that world becoming a very violent one,” said Zeihan, former chief of Middle East and East Asia analysis for Strategic Forecasting. “If the United States isn’t getting any crude from the Gulf, what benefit does it have in policing the Gulf anymore? All of the geopolitical flux that wracks that region regularly suddenly isn’t our problem.”

Very interesting development however if oil is found in Israel that too could change the balance. A company called Zion oil is searching for oil there now.

News: WAR JITTERS ROCK ISRAEL

Posted in Middle East News on April 4, 2008 by Joe Warner

Jerusalem • 4/3/2008 WAR JITTERS ROCK ISRAEL http://www.ddolan.com/updates.asp?updateid=131 Widespread media reports of possible imminent war with Syria—probably initiated by an attack upon Israel by its puppet Hizbullah militia force in Lebanon, supported by Palestinian Hamas fighters in the Gaza Strip, and possibly by Iran itself—have increased significantly in recent days here in Israel. Military analysts say this indicates something is indeed occurring on the ground to raise the war alert, as confirmed by army sources.

On Wednesday, Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Harel warned that Israel will respond “with a heavy hand” against anyone trying to target the country. Israel TV newscasts this evening are all featuring reports and analysis of the tense situation along the northern borders with Syria and Lebanon. Analysts are saying that while neither side probably wants war, the current tense situation could easily spiral out of control, given the heightened military alerts on both sides.

This all comes as Israel makes final preparations for the largest civilian home front war exercises ever conducted in the country, due to begin on Sunday and last through next Thursday. The cabinet is scheduled to meet Sunday morning in a special session meant to simulate an actual war emergency, followed by war drills in many hospitals, army bases, emergency response services, municipalities, police stations, etc. An actual war siren will be sounded on Tuesday morning at 10 AM all over the country. People everywhere will be instructed by the media in the coming days to respond then as if an attack was in progress, to test their preparations for the same. With news stories like these It really looks as though we are moving towards Ezekial’s prophecy concerning the destruction of Damascus.

News Report: Olmert to Divide J’lem, Accept Arab Influx

Posted in Middle East News on April 3, 2008 by Joe Warner

(IsraelNN.com) Over the next six months Israeli and PA negotiators are expected to finalize an agreement that will include dividing Jerusalem, flooding Israel with Palestinian immigrants and an Israeli withdrawal to the 1948 Armistice Line.According to a report issued by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, Prime Minister Olmert has indicated Israel’s willingness to be “flexible” in meeting Arab demands, and US President George W. Bush will pressure PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to do the same during meetings next month.

Israel will reportedly withdraw most military and civilians to the 1967 border, with the exception of large settlement blocks near pre-1967 Israel.Israel is also expected to meet Arab demands to “make up” territories in Judea and Samaria that remain under Israeli control by transferring lands from pre-1967 Israel to PA control. But the PA has refused to accept Arab-populated regions of pre-1967 Israel as part of the deal. Full story here: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/144324
Simply amazing to watch bible prophecy unfold as we see Jerusalem basically being divided in half.
